The Clinical Neuropsychologist is the official journal of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology (AACN), the organization for those psychologists who have achieved board certification in the specialty of Clinical Neuropsychology, under the auspices of the American Board of Clinical Neuropsychology (ABCN).

The AACN supports continued maintenance of standards in Clinical Neuropsychology through the established board certification process of ABCN. It also supports the continued development of the ABCN examination process, and advocates for the standards represented by board certification.

The AACN has an annual meeting open both to members and non-members. The meeting includes an extensive continuing education program which will be of interest to all, including special courses for candidates for board certification and for AACN members and others to maintain specialty knowledge.

  • As a service to readers, select articles in each issue are available for CE credits, which are provided under the auspices of AACN via its website.
  • TCN and the AACN jointly sponsor a yearly competition for the best scholarly manuscript based on a student project. The winner will be announced at the AACN annual meeting (starting in 2016). The first-prize winner will receive a $1000 monetary award, and two runner-ups will receive $500 each.

Continuing Education Online Announcement

The American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology (AACN) is offering continuing education through its official journal The Clinical Neuropsychologist (TCN).

Target Audience: Clinical Neuropsychologists and Clinical Psychologists.

AACN Online System: Any licensed psychologist who reads TCN will be able to able to earn up to 3 CE credits per TCN issue by reading designated article(s) and completing an online quiz. Subscribers can complete the quizzes for any issue in a given year. A fee of $20 per quiz ($15 for AACN members), payable by credit card online, will be charged for participation in this activity.

To Receive Online CE Credit: Read one of the TCN CE-designated articles in its entirety. Access the CE quiz online at the AACN website, register for the specific TCN article(s) for which you wish to receive CE credit and complete all questions on the quiz. The estimated time to read an article and complete the quiz is 1 hour. Credits will be awarded to individuals scoring 75% or better on the quiz. One CE credit will be awarded for each article. Participants will receive an immediate confirmation of credits earned by email.

CE Accreditation Statement The American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology maintains responsibility for this program and its content.

American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology Foundation

The Outcome Studies Grant Program is sponsored by the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology Foundation, a nonprofit, charitable organization (501c3) established in 2008 by the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology. The mission of the Foundation is to support research to evaluate and document outcomes of neuropsychological services, and to increase access to neuropsychological services among the public by increasing awareness of those services and their outcomes.
