Society information

The International Society for Digital Earth is a non-political, non-governmental and not-for-profit international organization, principally for the promotion of academic exchange, the innovation of science and technology, education, and international collaboration towards the realization of ‘Digital Earth’. The purpose of the society is to promote international cooperation around the ‘Digital Earth’ vision, and enable ‘Digital Earth’ technology to play key roles, inter alia, in economic and social sustainable development, environmental protection, disaster mitigation, natural resources conservation and the improvement of human beings' living standards.

The International Society for Digital Earth is a participating organization of the Group on Earth Observations (GEO), a member of the International Science Council (ISC), and a member of UN-GGIM: Geospatial Societies (UN-GGIM- GS).
