Vipanchika Sahasri Bhagyanagar is a PhD student in History at Purdue University, West Lafayette. Punishment, Justice, Sexuality, and Violence are her major areas of interest. Her interests in prisons developed as a master’s student at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi. Deeply puzzled by the intersections of power and prisons, she is working on the foundations of prison system in India for her dissertation.
