Keeping Abreast of Series Fiction Publishing

A Challenge for Children's Literature Bibliographers

Pages 47-58 | Published online: 22 Oct 2008

SUMMARY

Interdependency exists among librarians, researchers, dealers, and collectors dedicated to the genre of series fiction for children and young people. Academic institutions scrutinize the relationship of collecting to the curriculum, implications of future budgets and personnel, and potential use when offered a gift. While new technologies enhance communication, the increasing production of such publications and time constraints challenge even the most ardent participant. Nurturing the partnerships is critical to meet the needs for improved resources and services for continued studies of these materials in the future.
