Critical Insights in Environmental Science and Technology is an interdisciplinary journal bringing together innovative and novel research in the field of environmental science. The journal is an Open Access, international, broad scope journal that aims to identify current and emerging environmental issues facing society, as well as highlighting state-of-the-art methods for understanding environmental processes and evaluating future-looking technological applications for environmental restoration.

Central to the mission of the journal is a focus on environmental issues where society requires urgent change, as well as solving complex environmental issues through diverse perspectives. Interdisciplinarity is central to Critical Insights in Environmental Science and Technology, although single discipline manuscripts are welcome.

Lead by a team of international academic experts, Critical Insights in Environmental Science and Technology aims to highlight collaborative, interdisciplinary research with a future focus that articulates where the field is headed and distinguishes itself from other journals by encouraging fact-based speculation.

Critical Insights in Environmental Science and Technology welcomes original research, as well as short review articles. The journal is divided into 7 key sections described below:

Innovative remediation, waste reduction, recycling and re-use technologies

Considering manuscripts on waste and wastewater treatment, bioremediation and waste reduction, recycling and reuse.

Environmental processes impacting climate change

Considering manuscripts on the carbon cycle, climate change and nature-based carbon neutralization

Novel assessment techniques for environmental application

Considering manuscripts on applications of new methods such as lab-on-chip, microfluidics, novel sensors and machine learning
