Journal overview

Please note, from 2015 the Print ISSN is not in active use as this journal is no longer published in print.

Materials Research Innovations covers all areas of materials research with a particular interest in synthesis, processing, and properties from the nanoscale to the microscale to the bulk. Coverage includes all classes of material – ceramics, metals, and polymers; semiconductors and other functional materials; organic and inorganic materials – alone or in combination as composites. Innovation in composition and processing to impart special properties to bulk materials and coatings, and for innovative applications in technology, represents a strong focus. The journal attempts to balance enduring themes of science and engineering with the innovation provided by such areas of research activity.

The Editors have indentified certain focal areas in which Materials Research Innovations wishes to become a journal of choice for reporting innovations:

•The discovery or development of new materials
•New processes for the manipulation or processing of solid matter
•Science relevant to giga-
(meta-) technologies
•Innovations in materials that drive biological applications
•Characterisation, surfaces and interfaces of nanostructured and nanocomposite materials
•Porous and catalytic materials
•Nanoscale devices and systems
•Physical and chemical synthesis and processing of fine powders, single crystals and composites
•Novel ion exchange materials
•Metallic and oxide superlattices
•Phenomena in nano confining systems
•Polymeric nanophase materials and nanocomposites
•Biological systems at the nanoscale
•Material for magnetics, data storage, and sensing/actuation

The journal publishes two issues each year on the theme of energy materials. Authors should indicate during the submission process if they wish their paper to be considered for these issues.

Peer Review Policy

All submitted manuscripts are subject to initial appraisal by the Editor. If found suitable for further consideration, papers are subject to peer review by independent, anonymous expect referees. All peer-review is single anonymized.
