Investigations in Mathematics Learning ( IML) is a double anonymized, peer-reviewed official research journal of the Research Council on Mathematics Learning (RCML). The mission of RCML is to stimulate, generate, coordinate, and disseminate research efforts designed to understand and influence factors that affect mathematics learning.

IML seeks empirical, theoretical, and conceptual articles that align with the mission of RCML, with explicit connections to issues related to mathematics education scholarship. Topics may include preservice and inservice teacher education, professional development, pedagogy, methodological concepts, and development of future scholars in mathematics education. Areas can include equity, social justice, validity and validation, as well as programmatic and policy-related matters related to the field of mathematics education.

Authors can choose to publish gold open access in this journal.
